Schaefer employs a full-time sales professional to help from design to delivery. Helpful Customer Service Staff. Schaefer has a personable and helpful customer service staff to service our customers and answer questions quickly. Brewer Gang Saw System. Schaefer utilizes a Brewer double arbor gang saw to cut hardwood and pine cants to meet the customer's specification. On a monthly basis, we have the ability to cut 350,000 to 400,000 board feet of lumber. Viking Duo-Matic Nail Machine. For automated pallet assembly we utilize our Viking Duo-Matic nail machine.  This machine is capable of making 1,200 custom pallets per day to meet our customer’s expectations. PDS or Pallet Design System. Schaefer uses this computer program, developed by the NWPCA and Virginia Tech, to design pallets and determine the pallet's capabilities before the pallet is manufactured. Safety Stock. We carry additional inventory for customers who provide Schaefer with blanket orders. This service if offered to provide quick delivery for our customers. Employee innovation allows Schaefer to offer 99.3% on-time delivery. Vendor Inventory Management. For select customers Schaefer will take inventory on our customer's site and order based on mutually agreed inventory levels. Logistics. Schaefer employs three full-time truck drivers and four back-up drivers that deliver items in our own fleet of trucks. The fleet of trucks consists of four tractor trailers, two flat beds, one box van, and twelve trailers. SPEQ Licensure. Schaefer is capable of becoming SPEQ licensed through the National Wooden Pallet & Container Association if required by the company’s customers. Schaefer Box & Pallet Company is a custom manufacturer of wooden pallets, skids, boxes, and crates. We have the ability to quickly turnaround most any size, shape, and quantity that are needed to satisfy the customer’s needs.  During this process, Schaefer can aid in the design of pallets and skids, through the use of PDS or Pallet Design System, which will make life easier for our customers.
